Welcome to the OPC Competence Centre, South Africa

The OPC Competence Centre (OCC) of South Africa works in conjunction with OPC Africa and the OPC Foundation to provide quality OPC services in the region.

The OCC provides vendor-neutral support to local vendors, developers and end users in all aspects related to OPC technologies.

The Centre offers a number of services to the local OPC community which includes training, product certification and interoperability testing and support.

OCC announces course schedule for 2009 - Wednesday, January 28, 2009

We are geared up for training! Two courses are on offer, an end-users course that deals with OPC from an end-user perspective (1 day) and a developer's course where we delve into coding (2 days). See our training section for more details, booking forms and schedules.

OCC attends OPC Interoperability Event in Nuremberg, Germany - Monday, November 05, 2007

In the week building up to the Rugby World Cup Final (won by the Springboks), David Bean and Andre Badenhorst spent a week at Siemens Moorebrunn with other OPC participants from around the world doing interoperability testing of their OPC products. The primary purpose of the trip was to gain first hand experience of what is required to host such an event and to solicit support for an event in South Africa in 2008. Karl Deiretsbacher of Siemens indicated their willingness to provide technical support if we can attract participation of at least 10 member companies.
